Good morning! I hope you all are doing well!
Today, I’m sharing the method that I use when I want to freshen up my laundry and add a nice smell to it! It’s very simple, and totally natural, so if you’re the type who likes for your laundry to smell good, but doesn’t want to/can’t use traditional dryer sheets/detergent, this might be a good option for you!

So the way I do this is to use wool dryer balls (can you tell they’ve been well used? 😉 I don’t even have all of them anymore, because they start to fall apart after using them for a long time… I’ve had mine for over a year!) You can purchase these online, or I believe you can even get them at Walmart. When I want to add a scent to a load of laundry, I place a few drops of essential oil on a couple of dryer balls, and allow them to bounce around with the laundry in the dryer. I think I used about ten drops per ball last time. The scent then gets transferred to the laundry! Now, if you want a more uniform scent throughout the laundry, you may want to add oils to more like three or four balls, since I feel like some of the laundry can end up with a stronger smell than the rest if you only use two. Just experiment and find out how you like to do it!
I have also tried adding essential oils to my homemade laundry detergent, or even adding a few drops to a load in the washing machine, but if you’re looking for the scent to last, I definitely suggest adding the oils during the drying phase, rather than when you’re washing.
If you do decide to give the dryer balls with essential oils method a try, I will also point out that you do have to keep adding oil to the balls, because the scent doesn’t last very long. I personally don’t do this with every load, just whenever I want to freshen up my laundry (usually cloth diapers.)
I hope this inspires you to try a new method for adding a nice scent to your laundry, naturally. 😊 You get to choose the essential oils, so you choose the scent… I don’t think I’ve ever tried this, but you could even use a couple of different types to create your own blend of smells!
Anyway, I hope this will give you some ideas, and I’ll talk to you soon!
