I hope you all are faring well these days, and finding new/interesting things to do since you may be spending a little more time than usual at home right now… but since a lot of people are home, it’s a good time to talk about what we’ve already been talking about this month, and that is cleaning! Today I’m not writing about cleaning products like sprays or anything like that, I’m talking about two tools that are so helpful in the kitchen, especially when you have little ones who consistently drop crumbs on the floor. 😉
You probably already know what I’m going to say, but in case you need some help, those two special items are… a broom, and a stand alone dust pan.

I went for a few years after getting married without these kitchen helpers, but I probably should have purchased them before I did. I mean, you can get them at Dollar Tree (or at least, you can where I live) so for $2 and change you can have a wonderful addition to your collection of kitchen cleaning supplies!
Of course, the nice thing about the long handle on the dust pan is that you don’t have to get down on your hands and knees to sweep up crumbs. And the nice thing about getting the broom/pan at the dollar store, obviously, is the fact that it only costs $2! Now, if you want a cuter broom set, maybe like the one in the picture, you may have to pay a bit more for it, but then you would have the consolation of using something pretty every time you pick it up, but that’s completely optional!
And as a special note to mothers, I’d also like to point out the fact that using a broom is very quiet, so if you have a child who is a light sleeper napping in the next room, you don’t have to worry about waiting to clean your floors until after they wake up like you might if using a vacuum cleaner… just a thought. Plus, a broom and pan are just generally handy to have around when you have young children who aren’t exactly the neatest of eaters and you may have to clean your floors several times a day.
But anyway, if you don’t have a broom + dust pan set, I suggest investing in one, even if you only spend $2…
I hope you all will enjoy your time at home, even if you didn’t plan it that way, and find something creative to do!
Talk to you soon, and I hope you have a great day!
