Grocery Haul, Trim Healthy Mama Style!

Okay, so I finally got out and got some groceries yesterday, which is a good thing, since we were running pretty low! I purchased items that I can use to make Trim Healthy Mama friendly snacks and meals, and today I’m showing you what I got, along with how much I spent!(If you didn’t already know, I’m following the THM plan this month. You can read a brief overview of the plan in this post.)

Anyway, moving on to the groceries!

Let’s start with the pantry items…

Baking soda (for laundry detergent)

1 bag tortilla chips

2 cans crushed tomatoes

2 cans black beans

1 canister peanuts

1 pack of raisins

1 can pink salmon

1 container garlic powder

1 bag brown jasmine rice

…and the dairy, fruit, and vegetables:

2 blocks of cheese

1 package of sliced cheese

1 container nonfat Greek yogurt

2 containers sour cream

1 container cottage cheese

1/2 gallon almond milk

3 dozen eggs

1 bag grapefruit

1 bag apples

1 bunch bananas

1 container mushrooms

1 head cauliflower

1 bag broccoli florets

1 bag carrots

1 butternut squash

2 bags salad

1 package chicken breast

Grand total: $52.12!

My total does not include some household items I purchased, plus at Aldi the cashier accidentally rang up two dozen eggs instead of three, and I didn’t notice until I got home so I couldn’t fix it. 😕

You probably noticed that I did not purchase organic items, but whether you do or not is totally up to you! Trim Healthy Mama is customizable to fit your style, so if you like to do everything organic, and that fits your budget, you can certainly go that route! I also didn’t pick up any regular milk while I was out, since we didn’t need it yet, but that is something we like to keep around the house, as well. 😊

And that’s it! I hope you’ll be inspired to start trying to eat healthier, even if you’re working with a small budget… get creative with leftovers and try to make what you purchase count!

    We shop at Aldi lots as well (and do THM), and so a lot of the things you had on your list, we actually buy too!❤️ For me, I love that nonfat Greek yogurt with some honey and fruit *amazing* 💕
