Today is the sixth day of me being on the Trim Healthy Mama plan! In case you didn’t already know, I decided to try it for the month of January, and so far it’s going pretty well!

I haven’t followed the plan perfectly (for instance, I did eat some salad dressing that contained sugar)… but it’s not like I totally derailed and went tumbling off plan. 😉
I’ve mostly stuck to the separate S (Satisfying) and E (Energizing) meals, although I did enjoy a couple of Crossovers (XO), in the form of fried eggs on toast, and a glass of milk. If you’ve never had eggs on toast, you should try it!
Some of the dishes I’ve prepared over the last few days include:
~ taco bowl with brown rice, nonfat yogurt in the place of sour cream (E)
~ deer roast with vegetables, sourdough biscuits (E)
~ ground deer and cheese casserole, broccoli (S)
~ lunch meat/egg muffins, salad (S)
So you see, this is just real food… nothing fancy! Of course, you could take it up a notch and enjoy steak with mashed cauliflower and a lettuce wedge, if you prefer, it’s just totally up to the person doing it, and the budget you’re working with!
So far I’m liking this style of eating pretty well, and I’m definitely planning to keep it up for the rest of the month… maybe longer than that. 😊 Even though I’m not going for major weight loss or anything like that, I still think this is a good way of maintaining a healthy weight and adopting good eating habits! You’re not just snacking because you “feel like it” on THM: you’re consciously thinking about what you eat, and when you eat it! It’s good self discipline, basically.
Anyway, I’m hoping to share a post soon (after I get some groceries) showing what kinds of food I’ve purchased to make Trim Healthy Mama friendly meals, and later share what we’re eating with those ingredients, so stay tuned for those being posted!
What about you? Are you trying to eat healthier in the new year? What changes are you making to reach that goal? If you’re interested in THM and would like to learn more, you can just check out the Trim Healthy Mama book!
