Christmas is just a couple of days away, and whether you’re hosting a family gathering, or simply at home wrapping gifts, here are a few ways of adding a little Christmas scent to the air, without adding the chemicals!
(Please note that I am not an expert on natural living, products, or essential oils. You can view my full disclaimer here.)
1. Diffuse Essential Oils
This is a perfect way of adding an array of smells to your home! You get to choose the oils, so you choose the scent… you could even purchase holiday blends, if you so choose. Simply place a few drops in your diffuser and enjoy the fresh, chemical free smell! (Just be sure to use oils that are safe to diffuse around babies/children if you’re going to have little ones around.)
2. Natural Candles
If you have a good quality, natural candle, then this is another great option! Not only does it smell good, but you also have the beauty of a burning candle, which is so nice!
3. Room Sprays with Essential Oils
If you’re a do-it-yourself type of person, then you might enjoy creating your own unique blend of essential oils to use as a totally natural room spray! Check out this post from Our Oily House which has instructions for several different blends that you might enjoy!
4. Stovetop Simmering Pot
A simmering pot is a more frugal way of adding a Christmas scent to your home, since it doesn’t require essential oils like a diffuser or room spray. Here are directions for what to use in your own from The Happier Homemaker, if you need some inspiration!
Now that your home is smelling like cinnamon and peppermints, you can go ahead and finish wrapping those gifts! And maybe make yourself a cup of Chocolate Chip Hot Chocolate while you’re at it. 😉 I hope you all will have a wonderful day as you prepare for Christmas!
