Craving a cup of hot chocolate, but don’t want to make a lot of it? Don’t worry! This chocolate chip hot chocolate recipe can be made quickly in the microwave in just a few minutes. Is it healthy? Ummm… not really, but at least it doesn’t have some of the ingredients you might find in store bought cocoa mix, so it’s got that going for it. 😉 If you have marshmallows or some chocolate syrup, feel free to dress yours up with a little added flair!
Single Serve Chocolate Chip Hot Chocolate Recipe
1 cup milk
2 TBSP chocolate chips
2 TBSP Cocoa powder
2 tsp. granulated sugar
Begin by heating one cup of milk in the microwave for 60 seconds. Add in the chocolate chips, and heat for another minute. Stir well.
Now add the cocoa and sugar, mix well, and enjoy!
If you want a little bit different twist, try making my husband’s version, which uses more cocoa and adds in cinnamon!
Cinnamon Hot Chocolate
1 cup milk
3 TBSP cocoa
4 tsp. granulated sugar
2 tsp. powdered sugar
Cinnamon to taste
Just heat the milk in the microwave for 2 minutes, add in the rest of the ingredients, stir, and enjoy the unique flavor of cinnamon + cocoa!
