Busy Mom Everyday Makeup Routine

Good morning, everyone! I hope you are all doing well, and enjoying your Christmas preparations! Since this is a busy time of year, it might be a good opportunity for me to share a makeup routine that can be done quickly… perfect for busy days running errands, or just staying home, if that’s what is on your schedule. If you have a young baby, you might just want a fast routine for any day!

This style of makeup is very sheer, and only takes a few steps to do, but if you’re looking for real coverage, this isn’t going to cut it. This is just a simple, easy, every day kind of look.

The first item you’ll be using is a tinted sunscreen. You could also try a tinted moisturizer, if you don’t care about having the added SPF. I like to use natural skin care products, so I chose this brand for mine, since it’s natural and affordable. It is greasy feeling, but that leads to the next step in the routine…

…finishing powder, or in this case, arrowroot powder! If you want to try a cheap option, you can give this one a try. You can find several options on Amazon (I’m linking to one here) or just pick up a bag at the grocery store. I recently started doing this, and it’s easier than trying to make a powder at home that doesn’t end up with little specks that don’t get fully combined and then leave streaks on my face when I’m doing my make up. Anyone else have that problem? Just dust a little on after you’ve applied your base layer.

Next up is eye shadow! I really like the Shea Moisture line of eye shadows, although I’m not sure if they’re still being produced. I got a bunch when they were marked down last year, so I shouldn’t need to buy any in the near future, but if you know of a similar brand, be sure to leave a comment and let me know! I use the three in the picture the most. I usually start with a layer of the lightest color in the quad, then do a layer just on my eye lid of either the white or the tannish brown color.

Last up is mascara! The one I’m using now is not a natural one, just to make a note. I did discover a bunch of Organic Wear mascaras at TJMaxx last week, so be sure to check stores like that for discounted products, and you may be able to get natural options without paying full price for it. After all, we don’t want to be spending a fortune just to get products with a “natural” label. You can also find Organic Wear on Amazon here, if you’re interested. Just swipe a little mascara on and call your makeup look done!

If you care to take an extra minute or two, you could always add a touch of blush and lip gloss, but that’s up to you. 😊

Anyway, I hope you’ll have an awesome rest of your day, and be sure to check back soon for more posts!
