Buy These Holiday Baking Goodies at Aldi

If you read my blog for long enough, you will most likely discover that Aldi is one of my FAVORITE places to shop. The store is cleverly compact, so it doesn’t take a half mile walk just to go from one end to the other, and the prices are amazing!

One of the things that Aldi does, like pretty much any grocery store, is carry certain items seasonally, or have regular items (such as baking necessities) at a lower price during certain times of the year.

Today I am focusing on 5 items you may want to consider purchasing at Aldi if you’re contributing to Thanksgiving dinner this year.

  1. Pumpkin Purée

If your pumpkin pie is the famous dessert at Thanksgiving or Christmas dinner, then stock up now while Aldi is carrying pumpkin purée at a great price. I got the can in the picture above for just $0.85!

2. Baking Morsels

My local Aldi currently has their Baker’s Corner 12 oz. bags of semi-sweet chocolate morsels marked down to 1.29 per bag! They are also carrying peanut butter morsels at the moment for $1.69. If you’re planning on doing any baking involving chocolate or peanut butter morsels any time soon, then you may want to check your local Aldi to see if they’re running a similar deal.

3. Sugar

This is a pretty basic part of most holiday baking, isn’t it? Cookies, cake, fudge, brownies, pies… you name it! I personally choose to buy unrefined cane sugar at my Aldi.

4. Baking Soda/Baking Powder

Technically these are two separate items, but I’m putting them in the same category anyway. You can find both at a great price at Aldi. I will note that I would prefer to purchase my baking powder at Trader Joe’s, as it does not contain aluminum, but that’s up to you!

5. Spices

And one last important item, or really group of items… spices! After all, could you imagine warm cinnamony baked goods without the cinnamon?!? No, of course not! I buy mine for $0.95 at Aldi!

So there you have it! If you have one of these neat little grocery stores near you, you might just want to check it out… it might become one of your favorites, too!
